NY. emigrated from Hertogrnbosch in th eprovince of North Brabant in
Hollad.
Dirck was first a tavern keeper in New Amsterdam, but later served as
Town
Clerk of Brooklyn, Schoolmaster in New Lots, Town Clerk of FLatbush,
County Clerk of Orange County (which today consists of Rockland
County),
Justice of the Peace in Westchester County and compiler of the first
records of the Sleepy Hollow Reformed Church. He was married to Maria VAN MONTFOORT
[PETERSE?] in 1655.
