Charles WOLFE

was born on 28 Feb 1868 in Coeymans, NY [S6]. Died on 25 Oct 1935 in Fifth Avenue Hospital, NYC [S7,S8]. Buried on 29 Oct 1935 in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY [S9]. Section 46, Plot 108, Grave 7, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Tarrytown, NY. Occupation: Steamboat Pilot, like his father and his grandfather. Captained the Brinkerhoff, the America, the Say When, and other boats. Licensed to master steam and motor vessels up to 1,000 tons. His life traced the course of the Hudson River. Lived in Poughkeepsie, NY with his wife, child, father and stepmother at 208 Main Street. Later moved to New York City and lived on West 125th Street in 1924. Eventually he moved to The Bronx and lived on Governeur Place. When he was 67 years old he was jaywalking across Second Avenue at 102nd Street and was struck by a car and killed.
